bullet

Will it make you a better Developer?
Of course it will, not only will you learn things that are taken for granted, like the VB IDE, or proper error handling, all the way up to creating DCOM, MTS (Microsoft Transaction Server) and COM+ with SQL,Applications.

bullet

Are The Exams Hard?
Yes, that is why MCP/MCSD developers are the best of the best. We are not "Paper" experts.  We have proven that we know our stuff.  When the Guru first started down the MCSD path, he had been developing in VB for over 3 years, he studied half heartedly and  failed his first VB 5 exam.  So do not kid yourself, it will be hard, but well worth it.

bullet

Will my Employer benefit?
Yes, they know you will be designing and coding better applications, that is why most employers are willing to pay for the courses and exams.  If your Employer is considering becoming a Solution Provider or Partner, they must have 2 MCP's on full time staff, so it is a win-win for both of you.

bullet

OK, what is the bottom Line, what is in it for me (financial benefit for you)?
On average, the Guru has received a $5000.00 raise after each exam written, after his second exam, he was also promoted to a Lead Developer.  Your employer will realize you want to improve your skills and want to be the best, they will also realize you are willing to learn, things companies are looking for in employees.
